How it works

Three things happen, in this order

No password. No recovery email. No private key sitting on a server.

Nothing to phish

There's no password prompt to fake and no reset email to intercept — signing in happens on the token, not by typing a secret anywhere a fake page could catch it.

Nothing readable to steal

Every message is sealed before it ever reaches our server. If our database were fully exposed tomorrow, it would hand over only ciphertext.

You can verify who's on the other end

Every contact has a short seal fingerprint tied to their device. Compare it once, in person or over another channel, and you'll always know a change is real.

How the security actually works

For anyone who wants the precise mechanism, not just the promise.

Direct to the token

Your browser talks to the token directly over USB. Nothing about your private key ever crosses the network to get there.

ECDH + AES-256-GCM, on-device

Your private key is generated on the token and never leaves it. Every message is encrypted and decrypted inside the token, under a session key derived fresh per contact.

The server only relays ciphertext

It passes sealed bytes between you and your contact and never holds a private key — a full database exposure would hand over nothing readable.
